WHAT'S UP?
SURPRISE! I'M WRITING ANOTHER BOOK!
Well, here I go again! I'm writing book number 7, to be published sometime in summer of 2020... DAVE'S LIFE LINES...TAKE TWO! This enlightening book of motivational sayings was written and compiled by me and whichever members of my friends and families wished to participate (over 50) as well as many famous people such as Plato and Rodney Dangerfield also being quoted! My good friend, Doug Kuhl, is illustrating this sequel as he did the original, DAVE'S LIFE LINES, last year. This book should only cost around $14. and will cover about 250 pages. This book features so many different people's points of view, that I'm sure there will will be many motivational sayings for everyone! Remember, it's called, 'Dave's Life Lines... Take two' and it will be sold at both Amazon and Barnes and Noble online! I'll let you know when the book is published! It will be out sometime in September! I hope everyone is having a great 2020... I know I am!
I'M ALMOST THROUGH MY FOURTH YEAR OF RETIREMENT!
It seems hard to believe, but, it's March, 2020, and I have almost completed my fourth year of retirement! I only mention it because many of my friends told me, when I first retired in 2016, that I would be bored and needed to find a hobby or two to survive it! Well, it seems I already had those hobbies in place, as I continue to read and write, watch vintage movies, exercise and go out to lunch a lot, with my wife, Margaret, who is also happily retired. I do miss teaching and directing choirs, but since my son, Alex, is in that very same business, I attend his concerts often! Life is very good!
LOS ANGELES SPORTS FANS!
Our family has been Los Angeles Dodgers and Lakers fans for as long as I can remember. Now, with the Rams returning to LA three years ago, we will be donning our jerseys and cheering for them in this year's Super Bowl! Go Rams!

Congratulations to Katie and Alex Willert married in August of 2018 in Temecula! Doug, Alex's godfather, officiated the ceremony!
My wife, Margaret, retired last year, and it has been so much better sharing retirement together! As I mentioned to her the other day, we are so different and yet so much alike! She agreed with me. What I meant by that was that we both like our alone time to work on projects (hers are generally artistic while mine deal with music and writing) but we also love spending time together. Retirement, allows us the time to do both!

I have tried to include everything pertinent to my years in show choir, and as many memories from former students as I could possibly solicit! Even though this book chronicles a 40 year time period, I believe it often reads like a novel, and everyone should enjoy reading it, whether they were a student of mine, or not. I taught from 1977-2016, at four different schools, as well as at least one junior high and a community college! Included in this 587 page book, are over 120 pages of memories from many of my former students, parents and associates at Norco HS, Nogales HS, Diamond Bar HS, Brea Junior HS and Brea-Olinda HS! This book will is only printed in hardcover, and sells for $29.95!

I am quite the movie buff! I always have been. It's so much fun to take a journey, through a good movie. Try watching the old movies that interest you... and you may be surprised at what you find!

For those of you who want to exercise, but can't seem to get to the gym very often... Buy a treadmill! Even if you don't use the exercise programs that most of them include, just walking on it for a half an hour a day will greatly improve your stamina and in general, your physical fitness! I love mine!
An idea I would suggest to those of you who like to read, but find it to be too expensive of a hobby... Buy used books through Amazon. They have used copies of almost every book I've searched for! In that way, if you don't like the book, it will only cost you a few dollars instead of $20. or more for a new copy. :)

RETIREMENT 2016!
I RETIRED FROM PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHING AT THE END OF THE 2016 SCHOOL YEAR, AFTER 39 YEARS OF TEACHING AND A ZILLION WONDERFUL MEMORIES. :)
