REMEMBERING ALLISON PAIGE PURDOM
WITH LOVE
Allison Paige Purdom was our greatest Choir fan at Brea Olinda High School over the past five years. She came to virtually every concert that her twin sisters Jill and Erin performed in, and always seemed to be smiling from beginning to end. She was a spirit of joy and exuberance even through all of the painful trials that dogged her daily during her short but remarkable life. Allison was born on March 4th, 1998, and she passed away last week at age 12. As I sit writing this memorial, taking in the illuminating smile that she wore every time I saw her, I can't help but think about how life is not fair. No one should die at age 12, especially such a loving spirit as Allison who had so much joy in her soul and shared it freely with everyone around her. But, everything has a purpose in God's world, and we know that Allison is free from her daily pain now as she watches us all from her place in Heaven. So, our Brea Choirs will joyfully dedicate our Fall Magic concerts on October 15th and 16th to Allison with as much love as we can possibly muster. And just as she loved "Let There Be Praise" at the end of every Spring Magic concert, I will always think of her fondly when I am listening to that wonderful song for the rest of my life. I personally send my love and hope to Stacy, Charles, Erin and Jill Purdom as well as Barbara and George Griego, as they survive Allison's sad passing. May wonderful memories spring from the twelve glorious years that Allison shared with you. I only saw her at concerts, but I still feel as if I have lost a wonderful friend. As we all remember Allison and all of the joy she freely shared, smile and throw your arms in the air, "Let There Be Praise!" I know she would want it that way. Love, Dave Willert
