DAVE WILLERT & DOUG KUHL
Doug and I began working together a long time ago following his year as a member of my choir at Norco High School. He became a wonderful friend to Margaret and I and Godfather to my son, Alex. Through the years, besides preparing award winning show choirs and working at Disneyland together, we also sang together. The first time we recorded one of our songs in a studio was 1988 when we recorded SWEET JAMIE. I released this several years ago, where it enjoyed immense popularity. I originally wrote the song at the request of a junior high guitar student of mine in 1977, who wanted to let a girl named Jamie, know how he felt about her by singing her a song. Well, I never did find out if he actually sang it to her, but I added it to my folder of songs I'd written, over the years. For some odd reason, it was rediscovered ten years later by Doug, who really liked it! We also sang this song for his brother Bill's wedding to his beautiful wife, Julie. At Doug's suggestion, we temporarily renamed the song, "Sweet Julie!"
